Outdoorsy in Oregon

Lake Trillium

I’ve always been a big fan of the Pacific Northwest. Lucky for me, I have siblings that live in both Oregon and Washington State! So I thought I’d share some thoughts from my travel journal on a trip I took to Oregon with family.

I left Portland at 3:45 this morning to catch the sunrise at Lake Trillium / Mt. Hood. It was cloudy the first couple of hours. Fortunately, they burned off around 7 a.m. and then it was crystal clear. Took a ton of photos.

Mt. Hood and Lake Trillium

I think this one was my favorite.

I was enamored by the enormity and rugged beauty of this mammoth mountain. The snowy peak, calm lake waters and wild flowers were mesmerizing. Glad I made the trip. Going back to Mt. Hood tomorrow with family. Hopefully find some waterfalls.😁

This is what waterfall dreams are made of. ✨Tamanawas Falls✨

A special day spent with family.

Trying to make time to drive out to the Oregon Coast tomorrow!

Oregon Coast
Haystack Rock

Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach. The Oregon coastline is like nothing I’ve ever seen!

Stunning and rugged beauty.

A different kind of Pacific Ocean. So glad we made the drive.

Go Ducks…As They Say!

The trip to Oregon was quick, but totally worth it. Peaceful Lake Trillium made for an awesome hike with ‘ohana. Spectacular Mt. Hood, which rises 11,239 feet above sea level and is actually a dormant volcano, was so beautiful to behold. And the picturesque coast definitely had that Goonies vibe with its expanse of waves and dramatic rocks riding from them.

From here, we went on to Washington for an incredible adventure…but that’s a story for another day!
